Online Coding Classes for Kids in the UK, Taught Live 1-on-1

Our online coding classes for kids in the UK are live Zoom lessons with one child and one mentor for a full 60 minutes. Children aged 8–17 choose one of three tracks:

• Roblox Studio and Luau — building and scripting their own games (Roblox course).
• Python — the language many UK schools use for GCSE Computer Science (Python course).
• Web development — HTML, CSS and JavaScript, building real pages (web course).

Your child keeps the same mentor from week to week, so there is no re-explaining where they got to. Projects are saved on your child's own computer or Roblox account, so the work stays with them.

The National Curriculum for computing in England sets out a clear path, and 1-on-1 lessons can run alongside it at your child's own pace:

• Key Stage 2 asks pupils to design, write and debug programs using sequence, selection and repetition, variables, and different kinds of input and output. Many primary schools teach this with block-based tools.
• Key Stage 3 requires two or more programming languages, at least one of them textual, and modular programs that use procedures or functions.
• Key Stage 4 is where GCSE Computer Science expects pupils to write, read and trace real programs.

The jump from blocks to typed code is where many children stall. Luau in Roblox Studio and Python are both text-based, so a child who has only used blocks at school gets plenty of practice with real syntax, error messages and debugging before secondary school asks for it. That is why Python for kids in the UK makes most sense from about age 10, while younger children often start with Roblox. Older pupils can bring school topics — loops, lists, functions — and practise them on projects they actually care about.

Roblox coding for kids in London, Manchester or a village in Devon starts the same way: children already know the platform, so they are keen to see how it works from the inside. In Roblox Studio they place parts, build levels and write Luau scripts that open doors, count points, move platforms and end rounds. Within the first few lessons a child can have a small playable level to share with friends.

One practical point: Roblox Studio runs only on Windows and Mac. Chromebooks and iPads can play Roblox but cannot run Studio. If your child only has a Chromebook, Python or web development can be done in a browser instead.

Lessons are taught from Toronto, which is five hours behind the UK for most of the year. That shapes which slots work:

• Weekends are the main option for school-age children — a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the UK is morning in Toronto.
• Weekday lunchtime, roughly 12:00–14:00 UK time, works during half-term, the Easter and summer holidays, and for home-educated children.
